lyrics
Seek the blood, the sanguine
The ichor of the gods
It’s flowing through my heart
And out from the tomb
Any way we go now
Under a cosmic sky
We go with insight
Of the unseen
In silence
We go forth
In violence
But we won’t forget the adage
Bloody vials revive us
Healing flesh and bone
Sightless though awoken
Our eyes are yet to open
Fear the Old Blood
Fear the Old Blood
Speak these words and exsanguinate
Each and every foe
Blood flowing in the streets
And out from the womb
Shrieking, bare, ineffable
A nightmare newly born
Delivered in twilight
Unseen
In silence
We go forth
In violence
But we won’t forget the adage
Bloody vials revive us
Healing flesh and bone
Sightless though awoken
Our eyes are yet to open
Fear the Old Blood
Fear the Old Blood
If ever we despair
Adrift and unprepared
Will mother Kosm hear our prayers?
Speak these words and
Ascend in twilight
Fear this curse
And descend in violence
Restrain these hides
With ropes and ties
And line our minds
With endless eyes
We’ve set our staves alight
But will they guide us through the night?
We’ve set our eyes on high
But will we ever meet the sky?
Arise
In silence
We go forth
In violence
In silence
We go forth
In violence
In violence
But we won’t forget the adage
Bloody vials revive us
Healing flesh and bone
But Sightless though awoken
Our eyes are yet to open
Fear the Old Blood
Fear the Old Blood

Abigail Williams has had a weird career with hiatuses and lineup changes, but they have finally perfected their sound on Walk Beyond the Dark. This album has such a refreshing and natural feeling that makes it one of the top atmospheric black metal albums of recent years. Ryan
Navene managed to pull it off as solo songwriter (bar Evan writing bass lines maybe). I will say though that Dark Future maybe had better overall flow, but the individual song arrangements here are special indeed. Melodic dissonance that I could only wish I were able to write. Congrats Entheos. daniqram
Melted Bodies recruit pals like Machine Girl, Fire-Toolz, Xiu Xiu & others to remix the trippy tracks from their last LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 9, 2021
The Indonesian act Kekal leaves no genre unturned, colliding black metal with industrial music with melodic post-rock on this stunning LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 25, 2023
Thank Goddess for this wondrous album, which I should have picked up aeons ago. The otherworldly atmosphere this trio weaves is utterly intoxicating and wholly (holy) their own.
Sincerest thanks for putting this and Feminazgul’s other albums in the feed today @Sælzer Bub; your timing was impeccable! MJ
